  1. Thanks Michael – great review. Loved this book and couldn’t put it down! Alex’s non actions did sometimes frustrate me, but that was part of his character. Also why he found himself in such a tense situation with his flatmates and their very shady employment. The writing was sharp and to the point. I had a lot of sympathy for Alex, his family and (sometimes) the young girl at the centre of this book as well as for his new girlfriend. Lucky she didn’t walk away from Alex and trusted him enough to believe him. The young girl’s character was not particularly attractive and at times I felt very concerned and sorry for her, but the author was able to convey a feeling of unease around her without spelling out the reason. I wasn’t that keen to read a murder mystery novel, but it was so well written it overcame my reluctance.

    Cheers Heather
